LG G Watch R Most Expensive Android Wear Smartwatch

The LG G Watch might be considered a flop, compared to the Moto 360, the obvious favorite coming out of the first generation Android Wear options. Motorola holds the crown, but LG has their second generation watch coming in October to South Korea, and it looks like a real challenger.
Not only does the LG G Watch R look the part, it also fixes some of the mistakes the Moto 360 has with the circular display. No hiding the sensors and drivers in the bottom part of the display, meaning the LG G Watch R has a full circular display, with no black marks.

This is a big improvement, since more than a few Moto 360 owners were complaining about the black bar on the bottom of their screen. The LG G Watch R offers a large bezel to compensate, but some people do prefer the look of LG's smartwatch.
With all of this premium quality comes a premium price and the LG G Watch R is the most expensive Android Wear smartwatch to date. In South Korea, it is priced at 352,000 won, around US$290 before taxes are added.
Customers could expect either a US$299 or a US$349 price tag, depending on how confident LG feels with their new smartwatch. There is still no release date for the United States or Europe, but considering they have shown lots of marketing material, it should only be a matter of time. The LG G Watch R will launch in South Korea on October 14.
The LG G Watch R needs to have at least some marketing in the United States. With all of the hype surrounding the Apple Watch, if LG can make customers think their design is more unique and original, they might be able to win over some buyers before the Apple Watch is even available.
