Christina Aguilera Returning to The Voice

Christina Aguilera, the original coach on NBC's The Voice, is returning to the show after taking off for two consecutive seasons.
The Voice host Carson Daly made the announcement Tuesday on NBC's Today.
Shakira and Gwen Stefani had filled in for Aguilera when she was off. Since she last sat on the show, Aguilera had been engaged to Matt Rutler earlier this year and given birth to their daughter and Christina's second child, Summer Rain Rutler, in August.

Aguilera will be rejoining longtime coaches Blake Shelton and Adam Levine when she returns to The Voice in its eighth season - but this will be the first season she's competing against Pharell Williams, who, incidentally, is finishing work on Stefani's upcoming third solo album.
Shelton and Levine have been with the show since the beginning, while Aguilera served as an original coach and took seasons four, six and seven off.
Cee Lo Green officially quit The Voice earlier this year, and given his parade of troubles - a rape accusation, and a deplorable series of tweets - it's safe to assume NBC wasn't eager to have him back on the show.
