China's quality control administrator announced that Japanese carmaker Toyota Motors Corp. will recall up to 1,880 Lexus vehicles that were imported to the country due to possible fuel leakage.
China's General Administration of Quality Supervision Inspection and Quarantine said the recall will start from November 14 and will involve Lexus vehicles manufactured from July 3 2007 to July 12, 2010.

A statement issued by the quality supervisor revealed that the recall was ordered after inspectors found out that the engine oil pipeline of the said Lexus cars could cause fuel leakage and result to accidents.
It was, however, not disclosed if there had been accidents in the past that was triggered by the said fuel leakage.
Toyota announced that it will replace the pipeline gasket of the recalled vehicles in order to eliminate the safety risks.
Last April, the Japanese carmaker and its joint venture company in China recalled nearly 62,000 vehicles in the country due to a problem with a spiral cable attached to an air bag.
The vehicles include 47,636 vehicles of the REIZ model produced between November 16, 2005 and August 10, 2010 by Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor and 13,752 Highlanders produced by the GAC Toyota Motor between May 27, 2009 and August 31, 2010.
Furthermore, 71 imported Highlanders produced between March 30,2007 and January 19, 2009 are also to be recalled, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
For this year, Toyota is set to recall about 6.4 million vehicles worldwide for its 27 models due to faults affecting various parts, Xinhua reported. The defects include steering wheels, seats and airbags.
The recall, which will become the second biggest of the company since late 2012, contains some of its best sellers such as the Camry sedan, RAV4 sport utility vehicle and Corolla cars, Toyota said in a statement in the day.
