Toyota to Call Back over 15,000 Lexus Units in China

Japanese car maker Toyota will call back 15,865 imported Lexus vehicles in China because of defective airbags, the Chinese General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection, and Quarantine announced (ASDIQ).

Toyota announced on Wednesday it will call back about 5.8 million cars in Japan, Europe, China, and other countries over Takata's defective air bag inflators, bringing the total number of recalled Toyota vehicles to 23.1 million since the start of Takata scandal.

Japanese carmaker Toyota has issued a recall order for its 2015 Camry and Avalon due to issues about the airbags not deploying as expected. The recall was due to airbag defects, but reports claim that it does not involve Takata airbags, which is also facing serious recall problems due to faulty airbags.

China's quality control administrator announced that Japanese carmaker Toyota Motors Corp. will recall up to 1,880 Lexus vehicles that were imported to the country due to possible fuel leakage.
