Beat the 1 Hour OnePlus One Preorder

OnePlus One

The OnePlus One is the one the biggest success stories coming out of Android, and the company behind the phone is reportedly considering Windows Phone.

The OnePlus One took the tech industry b storm when it was unveiled early in 2014 because of its high value for the price and its difficulty to purchase. OnePlus is now opening a wider preorder system for a very limited time, however.

OnePlus typically requires an invitation to purchase its smartphone but on Oct. 27, the company will let any customer order the One regardless of an invitation. Customers only have a one-hour window to place their order.

OnePlus One has a lot of attractive features but its invite system turns off many potential customers.

Determined buyers can get an invite easily through OPO forums but for those that want a hassle-free way to get the device, they'll be pleased to know they can purchase the One on Oct. 27, 8:00 A.M. PST for one hour. After that, customers need to wait for an invite.

It's still unknown when OnePlus will ship pre-ordered units but it could depend on how quickly the buyer orders the device. People that want to pre-order the One can prepare beforehand so they'll be only a click away from ordering when it opens on Oct. 27.

The one hour pre-order program will not replace the invite-only system. The invite-only price still applies.

The 16 GB model costs US$299 while the 64 GB variant is priced at US$349. People looking for a near-stock phone with a less expensive price and bigger display size will definitely want the OPO rather than the upcoming Google Nexus 6.
