The hit-and-run terror attack that killed a Jewish infant girl Wednesday resulted in a fresh wave of unrest in Jerusalem just weeks after the 50-day war in Gaza ended.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued sharp warnings on Friday to meet with harshest response anyone who attempts to harm Jews.

Netanyahu's remarks came two days after a 21-year-old Palestinian slammed his car at a light railway stop, killing a three-month old baby girl named Chaya Zissel Braun and injuring eight other people, The New York Times (NYT) reported.
The Israeli police identified the man as Abd al-Rahman al-Shaloudy, a resident of the Silwan territory in East Jerusalem and a suspected member of Hamas, the militant organization that controls the Gaza strip.
The driver attempted to flee on foot and was shot by the police. The police said they are treating the incident as a terror attack. Meanwhile, Palestinian news outlets are calling the incident a car crash, according to the NYT.
The incident immediately stirred violent clashes between Israeli authorities and Palestinians across east Jerusalem. On Thursday, Netanyahu ordered the deployment of additional security forces in the area to stamp out the unrest.
Earlier, the Israeli prime minister accused Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas of inciting the violence against Israelis in Jerusalem.
Abbas' speech over the weekend, which called on Palestinians to defend Islam's third holiest mosque, the Al Aksa Mosque in Jerusalem, followed an escalation of violence in the mosque compound between rioters, Muslim worshippers and Jewish authorities.
Although the armed conflict in south Israel ceased completely after Israel and Hamas signed the Egypt-brokered ceasefire deal in late August, the fighting in Jerusalem never stopped, reported the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.
The fresh wave of violence in Jerusalem underscores the brewing unrest that has gripped the city since Jewish terrorists murdered an Arab teenager in July, the newspaper said.
The killing was in retaliation for the murder of the three Israeli teenagers whom Palestinian militants affiliated with Hamas abducted in the occupied West Bank, setting off the summer war in Gaza that left 2,100 Palestinians and 73 Israelis dead.
