Obama on Campaign Spree in Final Run-up to Election Day

After several months in limbo, President Barrack Obama sets out to campaign for Democrats two weeks shy of the 2014 U.S. midterm elections.

Obama is scheduled to attend campaign events in behalf of Democrat representatives running for gubernatorial seats on Wisconsin, Michigan, Connecticut and Maine.  The President is also backing up senate hopeful Peter Gary who is ahead of votes against Republican Terry Lynn Land.

Due to his dwindling approval ratings with the latest at 41 percent, Obama remained on the side stage and avoided public appearances for the Democratic Party.  Instead, he is channeling his resources and influence to raise funds to be used for electoral propaganda.

According to Donna Hoffman, a political analyst at University of Northern Iowa, Obama's more vocal support to the Democrat does not necessarily mean that he is inching his way to convert Republican voters.  In fact, the plan is to focus and strengthen the party's constituents in the black and Hispanic community, and among members of the youth.

In an interview with Bloomberg's With All Due Respect, Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz did not mention specifics of the President's campaign trail nor of  the races he was supporting.

However, Schultz emphasized that Obama is doing his job across the country working on robo-call recordings and radio spots.  White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said all Democrat candidates have, in one way or another, benefited from Obama's fundraising efforts.

Towards the end of the month, Obama is scheduled to appear in Milwaukee with gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke, who is running ahead by one point against Republican Governor Scott Walker, according to polls by Wisconsin Public Radio and St. Norbert's College Strategic Research Institute.

On October 30, the President will visit Portland to campaign for Representative Mike Michaud, in the race against incumbent governor Paul LePage and independent candidate Eliot Cutler.
