This is $50 off the current retail price, the second price drop to come to the Xbox One. The first price drop happened when Microsoft removed the Kinect sensor from the bundle, dropping $100 from the retail price.

Microsoft is also bringing a few special edition console bundles to the holiday season, including an Assassin's Creed bundle with Unity and two other games included; a Sunset Overdrive bundle with the game and a white Xbox One console; a "Call of Duty" bundle with "Advanced Warfare" and a custom design on the console.

These limited edition bundles will include 1TB hard-drive, twice as large as the current retail option. Microsoft will drop the price for the Xbox One on November 2 and will continue the sale until the end of the year, along with the new bundles.

Sony is still ahead by a few million units in the console war, but Microsoft got the jump on them with the early launch in China. Analysts predict the sales will thin out in the next few months, with neither console offering any large-scale exclusive games.

"Sunset Overdrive" and "Halo" are Microsoft's two big shots for 2014 and 2015. Sony has "The Order: 1886" and "The Last of Us 2," the latter has already shown it can shift units in large quantities on the PS3.
