Gov. Scott Walker (R) released a last-minute ad Monday morning featuring his female lieutenant governor who branded him as the champion of gender equality in the workplace just two years after he quietly killed the equal pay law.
As Wisconsin's gubernatorial candidates barrel it out for the homestretch, Walker seeks to sway some of Mary Burke's (D) strongest supporters to his side: the women sector.

In the ad, Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch says she feels insulted with the Democratic gubernatorial candidate's claim that Walker is making it "harder for women to earn equal pay."
She goes on to claim that Burke is seeking to expand opportunities for more lawsuits, while Walker is creating more avenues to allow women to succeed.
"Under Scott Walker," she said, "workplace discrimination will always be illegal for any reason."
Under Wisconsin's Fair Employment Act, gender-based employment is illegal in the state. This was given more teeth by the Equal Pay Enforcement Act, which Walker quietly repealed in 2012.
While Walker never publicly commented on his decision, Republicans say the act allows for a massive number of baseless discrimination claims to flood circuit courts.
Burke and the Democrats have dished out aggressive attacks on Walker's decision to kill the Act, leading to lesser avenues through which wage discrimination claims would reach the courts. Thus, making it harder for more women to get paid more equally.
A group supporting Burke, the EMILY's list, denounced the governor's equal pay ad as a lie, saying Walker's record of killing a gender equality law speaks for his stance on pro-women issues.
Stephanie Wilson, who works as Burke's press secretary, said Burke strongly supports equal economic opportunities for women and will ensure that every hardworking Wisconsinite gets a fair shot, The Huffington Post reported her as saying.
Walker's ad comes days after the release of the newest election poll indicating a neck-and-neck race between opponents and coincides with one of the governor's most controversial campaign week yet.
On Monday, the boyish executive, who is seeking for a re-election, attacked Gov. Chris Christie and the Republication Governor's Association for not funneling enough funds to his campaign.
Walker backtracked on his provocative remarks a few hours later in the light of Christie's visit in Wisconsin, but reiterated Burke is still outspending him.
