The Halloween DLC highly speculated to come to "Grand Theft Auto 5" will not be released, disappointing GTA fans all across social media. But the game's developer, Rockstar, did announce that they'll implement a GTA Online Halloween Weekend Special.
According to an announcement from Rockstar's official Newswire, the Halloween Weekend Special begins today, Oct. 31, and will continue until Nov. 2.

In honor of Halloween, Rockstar will reward players who take part in all deathmatches - including Rockstar created and player-created - with double RP and double the amount of GTA cash during the three-day special.
In addition, Rockstar offers "treats" inside special crate drops. These treats will reportedly consist of Firework launchers, Miniguns, rare vintage T-shirts, and an abundance of RP, Cash and Ammo. These special crates will also be dropping much more frequently than usual, so be sure to watch the skies.
Although GTA enthusiasts were hoping to choose from a variety of Halloween costumes, the Vespucci Beach Mask Shop will have to do for the time being. All accessories and spooky masks at the shop can be purchased for half the usual price.
Rockstar is also offering half-priced discounts on orange-colored items including orange weapon tints, orange parachute smoke and orange tire smoke.
Also part of the Halloween Weekend Special is a Halloween Snapmatic contest. Rockstar encourages gamers to put together the most creative outfit and capture the best Halloween-themed shot with Snapmatic. Gamers must then tag the photo with #TrickOrTreat on the Socical Club, and the winner will be featured on Rockstar's Newswire, as well as receiving $1 million in-game cash.
Many GTA gamers in hopes of a Halloween DLC including zombies are completely dissatisfied with the Halloween Weekend Special, but at least Rockstar didn't decide to skip out on Halloween altogether.
