Rockstar Games announced they'd be shutting down the servers Wednesday Oct. 29 for maintenance, which reportedly could last nearly seven hours. This has led to speculation that the 1.18 update to "Grand Theft Auto 5" online is imminent.
Rockstar said that servers will have been shut down beginning at 2:00 p.m. EDT and could last as long as seven hours - ending at 9:00 p.m. It mentioned the Social Club website, GTA Online and other game features will be unavailable during this time.

Seven hours is a much longer time than Rockstar usually takes when conducting basic maintenance when fixing game mods - leading many GTA enthusiasts and YouTube GTA channels to believe the 1.18 update is coming very soon.
The 1.18 update could be the Heists DLC that's been highly anticipated for months, but it most likely will have something to do with the highly speculated Halloween DLC instead.
A report by Product Reviews claims a Halloween DLC is coming, describing how fans spotted a zombie in the latest GTA trailer for the PS4 - indicating that zombies will be implemented in the Halloween DLC.
"It is almost a foregone conclusion that Rockstar will give a Halloween update for 'GTA 5'," Product Reviews said in its report.
Product Reviews even claimed of coming across info leaked from source code suggesting a Zombie mode could be coming to GTA 5 single-player game play.
There's only one more possible date that the update can be released before Halloween. If Rockstar Games is indeed planning on releasing the Halloween DLC as 1.18 update, fans can set their sights for tomorrow Oct. 30.
