It seems like troubled star Amanda Bynes' situation has gotten so dire that she is currently living off of American Express gift cards her parents give her.
Ever since Bynes was released from a psychiatric facility last week, she has been spotted in West Hollywood, eating out and seeking refuge in hotels.

The actress, who is currently under the conservatorship of her parents, has no access to cash. She is currently living off on gift cards given to her, which usually amount to $50. If she really needs the cash, her parents hand her $100 worth of gift card.
Her parents give the gift cards to her court-appointed lawyer, who then hands them over to the troubled star.
So far, her parents have not invited her to live with them again because they are "burnt out" from having to take care of her. It seems that they have come to the realization that the actress might need to reach rock bottom in order for her to realize that she is in a dire situation. This move might help Bynes understand that she is in need of help and mental assistance.
Bynes, who had been pleading with her healthcare worker that she wants out of the mental facility, was released from an involuntary hold placed upon her. However, releasing her from the hold did not mean that she is stable as her doctors still believe that she has serious mental issues that needed to be attended to.
Once she was released from the involuntary hold, the star immediately left the facility and headed to a diner where witnesses claimed they saw her talking to herself.
As of now, her parents continue to have conservatorship over the star, but they clearly have no hold on her - especially since the star has an intense hatred for them after she felt that they tricked her into entering the mental facility.
