With many "Halo" enthusiasts anticipating the release of "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" on Nov. 11, game developer 343 Industries has officially announced the brand new eSports league called the Halo Championship Series (HCS).

The new eSports league will first focus its tournaments on "Halo 2: Anniversary" - one of four games apart of the "Halo: Master Chief Collection" that's soon to be released - in celebration of the 10-year anniversary of Halo 2.

Halo game developer 343 Industries has already teamed up with credible partners, announcing its collaboration with the world's leading live video platform Twitch and largest independent eSports brand ESL.

The first season is set to begin late November soon after the release of "Halo: Master Chief Collection" and will continue until March of 2015.

Teams of four players will be competing in a number of sanctioned online tournaments as well as in-person LAN events and will be rewarded with "HCS points" throughout the season. At the end of the season, teams with the most HCS points will then be invited at the HCS season finals in March 2015.

More details including cash prizes and the official rules of the tournaments will be released by 343 Industries within the coming days leading up to the "Halo: Master Chief Collection" release. The developing company is also hosting an invitational tournament this weekend Nov. 8-9, which can be seen at Twitch.tv/Halo at 5 p.m. EST.
