Rockstar Games just re-released "Grand Theft Auto 5" for next-generation consoles on Nov. 18, but GTA enthusiasts are already anticipating information on a potential "GTA 6," as rumors and speculation are beginning to circulate on the Internet.

With "GTA 5" grossing $1 billion in the first three days alone, it's safe to assume that Rockstar is certainly going to add another installment to the successful franchise.
In fact, the developing company is already thinking of ideas to implement in a potential "GTA 6," according to Leslie Benzies, president of Rockstar North, a subsidiary of Rockstar Games.
In a recent interview, Benzies says Rockstar has about "45 years worth of ideas" they want to implement in the next game, but don't quite know which direction they want to take yet, as Rockstar's obviously still in the pre-development stage.
Most of the current speculation seems to be focused on which city the new story will be set in for "GTA 6." Benzies mentioned in the same interview that "re-imagining Vice City would be very interesting."
The statement led many media outlets including International Business Times to speculate that the next installment could be returning to Miami. But instead of implementing the 1980s Miami setting, which was featured in "GTA: Vice City" that was launched in 2002, Rockstar would instead take a more contemporary approach to the city.
According to a report by AirHerald, there's also rumors about the possibility of Rockstar adding a female protagonist in an effort to entice more female gamers. If true, the addition would be substantial considering Rockstar hasn't implemented a female lead character for any of the previous installments.
Although Benzies didn't mention a potential release date, YouTube tipsters including "Nought Point Four LIVE" claims that a 2017 release date for "GTA 6" makes the most sense, as 2017 would mark the 20th year anniversary for GTA. But according to a report by gta6grandtheftauto.com, the release date would most likely be a little later.
Rockstar took five years to make "GTA 5" following the release of "GTA 4." Assuming Rockstar commits the same amount of time for "GTA 6, then gamers can expect to set their sights for a release in the Fall of 2018.
