Scotland Yard investigators this week reportedly were looking into allegations that a sitting Conservative Member of Parliament (MP) strangled a 12-year-old boy to death during a 1980s sex party.
That's the latest word in the continuing inquiry into an alleged Scotland Yard coverup of shocking behavior of a group of MPs and other powerful officials who allegedly staged private sex orgies with young boys from the late 1970s to at least 1985.

Reports in British tabloids said police now regarded witness assertions three boys were killed and countless others abused with the behavior covered up by authorities as credible.
Scotland Yard began re-examining pedophile politician and VIP allegations in 2012 during Operation Fairbank. They launched a new round of investigations called Operation Midland on Nov. 14 into the three murders.
A key witness identified only as Nick, now in his 40s, was said to have told authorities of three murders during the sex romps by VIP pedophiles at Dolphin Square development flats at Pimlico where many leading politicians maintain residences.
Nick said he was one of about 15 young boys who were physically and sexually abused by powerful conservative politicians during the encounters. His father would let the pedophile ring send cars to take him along with other victims to apartments and hotels where they were abused by "senior military and political" leaders, Nick said.
The witness said when he was around 11-years-old was being taken to at least 10 parties during which boys ages 10-to-14 were repeatedly raped and abused. His first such experience was with a group of powerful men who came and went during a Christmas party.
Attackers included a top diplomat and MI6 chief, he said. One of those attackers allegedly was Sir Peter Hayman, a top diplomat, who died in 1992. Hayman was publicly identified in 1981 as a pedophile by MP Geoffrey Dickens who tried to call attention to the powerful pedophile ring at that time.
Nick told British tabloids this week the first death was a 10- or-11-year-old boy who was run over on purpose by a car, possibly to scare him. Another boy was killed about a year and a half later by two unknown assailants as an MP watched, he said.
Perhaps the most horrifying incident took place in the 1980s when Nick said he was in the same room as a Tory MP, who was sitting in Parliament during that period, strangle to death a 12-year-old boy.
"I watched while that happened," Nick told the Daily Mirror's Sunday People newspaper. "I am not sure how I got out of that."
With a second witness confirming some of Nick's story, Scotland Yard officials were said to be lending weight and credibility to his account as the investigation continued.
