Before Microsoft's Surface Pro 3 was launched, there were a lot of rumors that the software giant was working on the tablet's mini edition called the Surface Mini. According to reports, the Surface Mini tablet will launch before the year ends.

Microsoft is said to be working on the new Surface Pro, which is rumored to be one of the first tablets to have Windows 10 OS out of the box. There was a promotional picture of the Windows 10 update for Lumia Windows 8 devices that states "One product family, One platform and One store." It could mean that all future Microsoft devices will run Windows 10, possibly starting 2015.

There isn't a lot information about the Surface Mini yet but it is said to come with either an 8-inch or a 10.1-inch display screen. It is also rumored to feature the new Windows 10 operating system. According to speculations, Microsoft will also be ready to unveil the Surface Pro 4 with the same Windows 10 OS soon after the Surface Mini tablet is launched.

The Surface Pro 3 was positioned as a hybrid device, a crossover between tablets and Windows PCs. the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a 12-inch display with 2160 x 1440 pixels resolution and 216 ppi. It has an Intel Core i3 chip and 4 GB of RAM, which is ideal for basic computing functions for office tasks while the i5 model is for bigger tasks.

The Surface Pen also helps get a lot of tasks done by allowing users to drag and select or write and draw on the screen. It can also be a computer mouse for quick right and left click actions. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a microSD card and USB 3.0 port for external storage support.
