Notorious hacker group the Lizard Squad has been keeping busy this month with distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks on gaming companies, and the group recently struck again attacking Electronic Art's (EA) servers on Wednesday.

The group has already sent out attacks to Microsoft's Xbox Live two times this month, in addition to an attack to the PlayStation Network closing down the servers and keeping gamers from being able to login or connect to the gaming networks.
In typical Lizard Squad fashion, the group took to Twitter to boast about its latest attack on EA saying, "EA #offline #LizardSquad," following multiple complaints from gamers claiming they couldn't access any EA games.
The group has caused a numerous problems within the gaming community, and apparently will send out a massive attack to Xbox Live again on Christmas day.
"On December 25 aka Christmas, we will tap into Microsoft and shut down Xbox Live, FOREVER! So enjoy it while it lasts," Lizard Squad said.
The group even went as far as to call in a fake bomb threat on the plane that Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley was on a couple months ago.
Meanwhile, there's currently a petition aiming to put an end to the group, which already has nearly 10,000 signatures for its goal of 91,000 by Jan. 4.
The full petition: "The infamous hackers "Lizard Squad" have committed numerous crimes. From DDOS attacks affecting Microsoft, Sony, and steam, which affected hundreds of thousands of people, to calling a fake bomb threat on a plane and forcing it to land. However, the government has taken little to no effort to actually finding these criminals. This petition is to change that."
