Apple is said to be planning to release two smartphone models in 2015: the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 7.

The iPhone 6 will be released in the spring while the iPhone 7 will be the flagship smartphone and will be in store shelves by September. The iPhone 6S is a companion for the Apple iWatch set to be released in March or April.

It's still evident that users prefer smaller versions and this is where speculations of the iPhone 6 Mini started.

The mini iPhone is called the iPhone 6C, and is a budget solution and alternative to the more costly iPhone 6. According to reports, Apple is working on a smaller iPhone with a 4-inch screen scheduled for release in 2015.

The iPhone Mini could be the iPhone 5C's replacement and will expand the company's range of products.

Apple could follow-up its current iPhone 6 flagship smartphone with the iPhone 6S that could be replaced by the iPhone 7 set for release in Q3 2016.

Samsung will be the biggest application processor supplier in 2016 and its processors will power future Apple iPhone and iPad models.

Rumors about the next iPhone have already started and the latest one is the concept that highlights an all-screen iPhone without bezels and with a larger display while maintaining a small device footprint at a maximum of 5 inches.

The render applies to the current iPhone screen that stretches diagonally to 4.7 inches. Based on Apple's past release dates, the iPhone 7 with an A9 application processor could be out next September.

The iPhone 7 is rumored to feature a glass panel that can withstand any fall and can't be cracked.

According to Apple Insider, the 2015 Apple flagship smartphone will have component protection that will make it a tougher screen. The new iPhone will be protected by technology in a new patent called "Protective Mechanism for an Electronic Device."
