The "Halo 5: Guardians" multiplayer beta will launch December 29, and Halo enthusiasts received a little preview as the menu screen for the upcoming game has been leaked.

A Reddit user by the name of "TheLittleMoa" was the first to upload the image claiming it to be the "Halo 5: Guardians" menu screen, mentioning that the image was captured on an Xbox One Game DVR clip.

Microsoft confirmed the leaked image with GameSpot on Monday, indicating that certain staff members are already testing out the beta making sure the game is ready for launch, and that there could be more leaks within the next two weeks.

"Launching the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta is a massive undertaking, and we enlisted a small group of Microsoft staff for testing and debugging of the beta to help us prepare our services and servers for the official launch on December 29," a Microsoft representative told GameSpot about the leaked image.

The "Halo 5" menu shows options to either launch the Arena Multiplayer Beta, Halo Channel, Spartan Hub, or Message of the Day, and according to gamers that commented on the Reddit post, the menu has an old "Halo 3" or "Halo Reach" feel to it.

Additionally, game developer 343 Industries plans to return to its roots with "Halo 5: Guardians" by focusing on competitive online gameplay. The company is bringing back small competitive maps and fast tempo game-modes where teamwork is essential like in previous "Halo 2" and "Halo 3" installments.

Gamers will have the opportunity to test the final beta for three weeks from December 29 through January 18, which will reportedly consist of three different game-modes and seven unique maps. Anyone who purchased the "Halo: Master Chief Collection" has access to the multiplayer beta.
