In addition to the official "Halo 5: Guardians" Beta trailer being released by 343 Industries, some Xbox One gamers will receive an early Christmas present and will have the opportunity to already begin beta testing starting Dec. 19.

Any gamers who purchased "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" will be able to experience their first rounds of "Halo 5: Guardians" multiplayer on Dec. 29. But the select few of special gamers who are a member of the Xbox Live Preview Program has already gained access to the beta a whole 10 days early.

However, the only way to be an Xbox Live Preview Program member is to be invited by Microsoft with a message through the Xbox Live inbox. If considered, gamers would have received the invite today.

Although the invitation process is randomized, gamers would likely need to be an active user with a strong interest in the "Halo" franchise. That's because these members' sole purpose is to provide feedback to ensure the least amount of issues during the official beta test launch.

Microsoft implementing the opportunity for Preview Program members to test the game is certainly interesting, as it could lead to some substantial information leaks about the latest "Halo" installment within the next ten days.

As seen below, game developer 343 Industries also released the official "Halo 5: Guardians" beta trailer today. The trailer shows off some of the new weapons, maps and game-modes.

343 Industries plans to return to its roots by focusing on competitive online gameplay. The company is bringing back small competitive maps and fast tempo game-modes where teamwork is essential like in previous "Halo 2" and "Halo 3" installments.
