This 2014 was a bumper harvest, from the point of view of authorities, is catching and detaining celebrities who use illegal drugs. Among them is Jaycee Chan, the son of Kung Fu actor Jackie Chan, caught in a drug bust in his Beijing house.
Actor Gao Hu, 40, was arrested in August for use and possession of marijuana and ice. Hu has starred in hit films such as "The Flowers of War" in 2011 and "Flying Swords of Dragon Gate" in 2013.
There were also a number of drug arrest in 2012 and 2011. Found smoking cannabis in his house in 2012 was actor Zhang Mo, while the previous year, the police arrested rock singer Xie Tianxiao and Hong Kong actor Max Mok for smoking weed.
To curb drug abuse among entertainers, the Beijing Trade Association for Performances imposed in September a ban on hiring of actors accused on drug use or prostitution.
