The National Football League (NFL) deemed Ndamukong Suh's step on Aaron Rodger's left leg an intentional action. Suh will be suspended for this week's NFL wild-card game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Suh, playing on the defensive team of the Detroit Lions, had the misfortune of stepping on Rodgers' leg when they played the Packers. The NFL deemed that Suh did it on purpose and sacked him for a game.

The Lions were in their meeting room watching film on the Cowboys for their upcoming game. Then, Head Coach Jim Caldwell snuck quietly to the back and pulled Suh out of the room to break the news.
Afterwards, he returned to the meeting room and told the rest of the Lions defensive line about what just transpired.
The team was visibly shocked into silence until the film began rolling again. The team's surprise came by the fact that they know who Suh is and don't believe that he would do such a thing.
"We're frustrated by the whole situation," defensive end Darryl Tapp said. "Like I said, we don't feel like it was intentional. We all know what kind of person Suh is..."
Losing Suh is a large setback for the Lions who are only playing their second playoff game since the turn of the century against one of the most balanced offenses in the NFL. Without Suh, the team will lose their most dominant defensive lineman and the heart of their No. 2-ranked defense.
Currently, Suh is not taking the battle lying down. He is appealing the suspension and has a hearing scheduled for Tuesday, but it is rare that a league-issued punishment is overturned.
