George Zimmerman Arrested for Throwing Wine Bottle at Girlfriend

The Seminole County Sheriff's Office arrested on Friday night George Zimmerman at his home in Lake Mary. He was accused of throwing a bottle of wine at his girlfriend, leading to the filing of aggravated assault charges.
Zimmerman's acquittal for the death of an unarmed teen triggered a nationwide debate of racism and self-defense laws.

He was out of a $5,000 bail on Saturday afternoon. On the same day, a judge ordered Zimmerman to avoid all contacts with his girlfriend, reports San Francisco Gate.
Don West, the lawyer of Zimmerman, said there was no injuries nor physical contact involved in the wine bottle-throwing incident that happened at Zimmerman's house on Monday.
According to the police, the girlfriend was upset over what happened and left Lake Mary, but she was pulled over for traffic violation. She informed the police of the incident, but it took them four days to contact Zimmerman and arrest him, reports WFTV.
The no-contact order by Judge John Galluzo includes Zimmerman staying out of Volusia County where the girlfriend lives and returning any personal belongings the woman may have left in his house through West. As a precautionary measure, Galluzo also ordered Zimmerman to surrender any weapons even if there was no firearm involved in the incident because of past incidents involving another girlfriend.
Since Zimmerman was acquitted in 2013 on second-degree murder charges for the death of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed teenager, he had three more cases.
The first involved pointing a gun at the face of Samantha Scheibe, his girlfriend then, during an argument, breaking a coffee table and pushing the woman out of the house they shared. While he was arrested for aggravated assault, battery and criminal mischief, Scheibe didn't pursue the case.
Another argument with his estranged wife, Shellie Zimmerman - who had just filed divorce paper - resulted in him breaking an iPad at their home.
Zimmerman, who also had three traffic violation citations, is scheduled to appear again in court on February 17.
