Chris Hemsworth Opens Up About What Fame Brought to His Life

Chris Hemsworth is probably one of the hottest celebrities in Hollywood today, but according to the Thor actor himself, the fame, as well as the fortune, are not what most people believe them to be.
In an interview with GQ Austrailia, Chris reveals that being a father and a husband are what bring him the most gratification. Chris says, "You get to Hollywood, you achieve something and then you realize, 'Shit, it didn't actually bring me the happiness I thought it was going to. It didn't fix anything.'" Chris continues, "Look, I mean I don't wake up, look in the mirror and go, 'Yep, all is perfect.'"

Although the actor is known for playing Thor, it is a smaller role that really helped showcase his talents. "Everything shifted for me after Rush. It wasn't as financially successful as other things I'd done, but it gave me more movement, more options, more doors opening, more meetings. All of a sudden, it's 'Oh, wow! You're an actor!'"
Chris, who stars in the new movie Blackhat and in the upcoming The Avengers: Age of Ultron, admits how superficial the movie industry can be sometimes. "It's bullshit. I remember how differently people treated me when things went well. Some directors and producers who never gave a shit-at best, they'd have given me a sideways glance. Next time I saw them, they're my best friend." Adding, "That's gross."
The actor further reveals that he's got more calls and emails about dethroning Adam Levine as the "Sexiest Man Alive" than about any film he's starred in.
When Chris isn't busy filming, he spends his time with his family. Though he knew that fame would really make a change in his life, he knows that his children did not sign up for it. "When I'm with my kids and someone is scaring my kids-which is what they'll do-that gets me fired up. The hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I get hot. I get flustered. And in the States, they're there, 24/7, at the gate, six feet away when you take out the rubbish."
Although he does not want to complain, he says that, "But at the same time, 'Get f-cked!' Nah mate, you don't have the right to do that. I don't give a f-k what anyone says-you're not a bonus to my career."
