Two United States Senators are asking U.S. President Barack Obama's administration to send more special operations forces to Yemen and other hotspots in the Middle East as the security condition in those countries start to deteriorate.

Republican Senator John McCain and Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein called for more U.S. forces in the Middle East despite the president's previous statement declaring his desire to not increase the military presence of the U.S in the said areas.

Yemenis are known for supporting the Houthi Shiite rebels from Sanaa, Yemen and they have previously burnt materials that represented America, France and Israel.

McCain and Feinstein spoke at the show "Face the Nation" and both have expressed their concern that special operations forces are really necessary in the Middle Eastern hotspots as the Iranian influence needs to be more direct.

Feinstein is the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee while McCain is the head of the Senate Armed Services Committee. The two have pointed out that more human intelligence is a growing necessity in the region and intelligence that is being gathered by technical mediums should not be depended on one hundred percent.

Obama has responded on the statements on Sunday, defending the strategies he has been planning against counterterrorism. His strategy depended more on drone strikes to take out the targets and that he has used this approach in hopes of eradicating the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) for the past months now.

Obama added that his approach was not neat and not simple but it is the best option that the U.S. has and the other countries who have joined him in the fight. McCain said that the administration was delusional for thinking that the strategy would work in the Middle East.

"We need more boots on the ground. I know that's a tough thing to say, and a tough thing for Americans to swallow," said McCain. "But it doesn't mean the 82nd Airborne... It means special forces. It means intelligence, and it means other capabilities."

In a joint media appearance with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Obama said next to drones, the coalition's next best option would be "massive U.S. deployments," which he said would probably give them more problems than solutions.
