The future is unclear for running back Marshawn Lynch, as key members of the Seattle Seahawks have dissenting opinions about keeping him for next season. One agent weighs in on what the team could do if they wanted to keep Lynch on.

During a recent meeting with the local media, Seahawks general manager John Schneider did not confirm that Lynch would be back next season.

Schneider though does respect Lynch's work ethic and the fact that he leaves it all on the field every single time he plays. He admits that he is still in contract.

Earlier in the season, there were talks about Lynch not returning to the Seahawks due to dissatisfaction with his contract, trouble with the organization, and several successors waiting in the wings.

However, if head coach Pete Carroll has anything to say about it, he still wants Lynch on his line-up for 2015.

Earlier in the year, Lynch did not attend training camp. He did so consciously to make the Seahawks management rethink his contract.

And they did.

Lynch's pay went up by a cool million.

With a new contract coming for quarterback Russell Wilson - one that will make him the highest paid player in the league - the Seahawks have to rethink Lynch's contracts.

Former sports agent Joel Corry suggests giving Lynch a short-term contract extension. Ultimately, the new contract would extend his contract for two years at the same $7.5 million average per year of his existing deal.

The new deal would give have substantial roster bonuses that would give the Seahawks a little bit of financial and cap relief if Lynch were to get injured.

The Seahawks would also have the option to exit the deal in 2016 by picking up $3 million of cap space if Lynch were to hit the wall.

The 29-year old Lynch is the clear driving force of the Seahawks offense. He led the NFL in rushing touchdowns and total touchdowns, 13 and 17 respectively.
