College football quarterback prodigy Jameis Winston has just filed a trademark for his "Famous Jameis" nickname, just in case he gets famous in the National Football League (NFL).
The nickname was given to Winston during his impressive couple of years with the Seminoles, where he won a Heisman Trophy and a national title.

Winston is coming off a great couple of college football years with Florida State. Throughout his collegiate career, he finished with 26 wins and only one loss.
Coming in with an impressive record and statistics, he is poised to be the number one draft pick in the NFL.
If he were to become famous in the big leagues, he has also made preparations to capitalize on his fame by trademarking his "Famous Jameis" name.
Russ Speilman, a partner of the Legacy Agency representing Winston, said that they have taken steps to protect their client and his intellectual property rights.
He also adds that Winston, at this moment, is solely focused on his football career and that they hope to utilize the trademarked nickname down the line.
The trademark was filed by the Legacy Agency on February 5, as shown in records with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office show.
Winston explained that he had many nicknames since he was playing Little League baseball.
He said that "Famous Jameis" nickname gained fame when he was steamrolling competition in his 2013 college season.
Merchandise with the phrase began propping up and a man from Alabama tried to trademark the phrase.
The government challenged the filing though, saying that the phrase was likely connected to the football star.
In the same year, Winston didn't care much for the nickname, sticking to his original nickname of "Jaboo."
He used to say that the nickname did not indicate that he was famous, rather that his team was.
The impact of the trademarked name will be decided by the impact that Winston will make in the NFL.
Johnny Manziel, who has trademarked "Johnny Football", saw the name have less of an effect on the sporting world with his poor performance last season.
