Hong Kong actress Gigi Leung gave birth to a healthy baby girl last February 28, according to Jaynestars News.

The baby was supposedly due on mid-March but arrived earlier than expected.

"All along, I've only felt you moving around my tummy. Today, I can finally hold you and actually feel your weight in my arms. Seeing your easy smile makes the pain worthwhile," said Gigi as she shared the first pictures of her daughter online.

Netizens distinguished the newborn baby girl's features such as the big round eyes, which she inherited from her mother Gigi and the tall nose, which was inherited from Gigi's husband, Sergio Crespo Gutes.

Several of Gigi's friends also gave their congratulations to the 38 year old actress through social media.

"A little angel has come to earth and brought Gigi, her husband, and many of their friends and families unlimited happiness and joy! Having known each other for 20 years and witnessing Gigi becoming a mother today is beyond words. It is all in the heart. May God continue to bless you my dear," says Charlie Yeung, a longtime friend of Gigi.

"The entire process of witnessing Gigi go through ten months of pregnancy with strength and positivity until the birth of the child is extremely touching. Welcome, little angel. Godmother will use the genuine and warmest love to protect you," says Angelica Lee, the newborn baby girl's godmother.

Since Sergio and Gigi got married in 2001, they have tried their best to conceive a child. When Gigi found out that she was carrying a child last year, she decided to reduce her workload in order to focus on maternal health.

In the Lunar New Year celebration, she kept herself busy by preparing the child's nursery, in anticipation of the baby's arrival.

Sergio accompanied Gigi, throughout labor and the whole birth process.

Gigi will also be breastfeeding her newborn daughter.
