Harrison Ford Likely Grounded After Plane Crash

Hollywood insurance carriers may ground actor Harrison Ford from any flying because of his recent accident wherein his vintage airplane experienced engine trouble and ended up crashing on a golf-course located in Venice, California.

The 72-year old actor who is best known for his role of Han Solo in the Star Wars films, survived the crash but was rushed to the hospital with moderately serious injuries. Contrary to earlier reports, the actor was not filming or working in a production when the accident happened.

Nonetheless, insurance carriers are more than likey to ban the actor from his hobby of flying his vintage airplane but the new policy will also include any flying that the actor may have to do for any movie he agrees on doing.

A source says that these insurance carriers are closely scrutinizing his flying ability "They want to make sure that it was due to engine trouble and not a pilot error. Insurance carriers will also stipulate in their new contract that Harrison will not be allowed to fly anything especially when he is on set."

This is not the first time that insurance carriers have become strict when it comes to dealing with actors, one insurance company had to settle on a US$10 million payout when actor Robert Downey Jr. broke his ankle, which caused a three-way delay on the Iron Man 3 production. Another company, FIremans Fund, paid US$70 million after actor Paul Walkers death caused a seven week delay production on the final Fast and The Furious film.
