Google Flights Will Show If Your Flight Has WiFi

Google has revealed new information about its Flights Portal that allows users to check if in-flight entertainment, power plugs and WiFi are available on board the flight.

The search giant has partnered with Routehappy (and it's already working with Virgin Atlantic and Expedia) to bring the information onto Google Flights. It will also show the amount of legroom available in flight.

Google's trying to control the entire flight experience, from ordering the tickets on Flights to paying for the tickets through Wallet, and then getting through security with Android Wear or Google Now mobile tickets.

Apple's trying to offer similar control over a user's flight but doesn't have the search engine to sell tickets. It does have Apple Pay and Passbook for the last two parts, however, and airlines have seemed more welcoming to Apple's iOS platform than Google's Android.

Wi-Fi is becoming more common on airlines, especially large airlines like British Airways, Etihad Airlines, United, Air Berlin that offer long-haul flights across the world.

Having the information before ordering the tickets allows flyers to make the best decision but it's clear some airlines aren't happy with Google disclosing information on their in-flight options.
