Bristol Palin Engaged to Medal of Honor Recipient Dakota Meyer

Bristol Palin is about to become a bride.
The 24-year old daughter of Sarah Palin recently announced that she is engaged to 26-year old U.S. Marine Veteran Dakota Meyer. Meyer was awarded the medal of honor in 2009 after he single-handedly saved 12 friendlies while providing cover for another 24 marines during an ambush in the warn torn Afghanistan.

Bristol shared a photo of them on instagram with the caption "I am the luckiest girl in the world, I cannot wait to marry this man", she also shared a photo of her halo cushion cut engagement ring on the social media website.
Meyer did not shy away from social media as well, he posted a tweet saying "I am the luckiest man to be able to spend the rest of my life with Bristol Palin #shesaidyes".
The couple met in 2014 after Meyer flew to Alaska to film a reality TV show with Bristol's mom, Sarah Palin, entitled "Amazing America".
After news of the engagement went viral, Meyer posted a heartfelt message on his Facebook page saying "All my life I have heard people say that you will know when you meet the one and I never understood that until now. Coming back from Afghanistan I never thought that I would ever feel joy again then I met Bristol. She has made me become a better man and I want to spend the rest of my life with her and Tripp and for the first time in a long time I can say that the best is yet to come. Thanks to everyone for all your kind words and support, it means a lot to us."
Bristol was previously engaged to Levi Johnston, who also fathered her 6-year old son, Tripp. Johnston and Bristol were engaged from 2008 to 2009.
