The amazing defensive line of the Houston Texans have just been improved even more with the addition of veteran defensive tackle Vince Wilfork.

NFL.com initially reported that Wilfork has signed a two year deal with the Texans. The deal is worth $9 million, with $5 million of the amount already guaranteed.

Wilfork joins a fearsome defensive squad that already includes defensive Most Valuable Player of the 2014 season, JJ Watt, and 2014 overall number one draft pick Jadeveon Clowney.

After 11 years in the National Football League (NFL), the Texans are only the second team to play home to Wilfork.

When he was drafted by the Texans, Wilfork took to social media to express how excited he was for his future with his new team.

In a statement released on Twitter, he said that the process was an interesting one for himself and his family. The decision, he said, was one that was well thought out one.

"The coaching staff in Houston has made this new exciting transition feel like home to us," Wilfork says.

The NFL free agency just recently opened up, and the atmosphere has been a hectic one all around.

However, the Texans' signing Wilfork is news that actually makes sense for both parties.

The primary reason for the good fit is that Wilfork has had previous relationships with Head Coach Bill O'Brien, linebackers coach Mike Vrabel and defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel.

These coaches and Wilfork grew acquainted when they coached previously in his old, the New England Patriots, whom Wilfork stayed with for all his previous years in the NFL.

After 11 years with the Patriots, Wilfork now moves on with the Texans. He is already beginning to call Houston his second home, though he also says that New England will forever hold a special place in his heart.

Wilfork is best known for stopping the run. He started in all 16 games of the Patriots in the 2014 season, earning 47 tackles and one interception.
