It seems visiting Europe will no longer be a far-off dream for some Americans as a European carrier plans to offer cheap flights in the coming years.

Ryanair, Europe's largest budget airline carrier, plans to introduce a low-cost transatlantic flight to Europe by 2020.

The company is waiting to seal a deal, already sitting down with manufacturers for a long-haul fleet. Should they land one, likely eyeing aircrafts from Boeing and Airbus, it would offer the budget flights to up to 14 American cities.

"European consumers want lower cost travel to the U.S.A. and the same for Americans coming to Europe," notes head of communications Robin Kiely.  "We see it as a logical development in the European market," Kiely adds.

Tickets would possibly go as low as £10 ($15). However, the extremely low cost fare should not be the only consideration of passengers-to-be. Passenger taxes could go as high as $200 for air travel from the United Kingdom to the U.S., plus there are other fees from the airline like baggage and seat reservation.

This is especially true for Irish airline, Ryanair, whose profits come mainly from other services not reflected in the ticket price. This goes the same for other low-budget airfare providers.

While the company has long been trying to grab share of the large U.S. market, it is not the first European airline to dabble in low-cost services to the U.S. Norwegian Air has done so just last May 2014.

Similarly, French airline La Compagnie also revealed intentions to launch cheap business flights from New York to London for approximately $2,200, over half the offerings of American Airline and Air France.

However, this could be seen as the road less traveled as business class operators Eos Airline, MAXjet and Silverjet collapsed in 2008. L'Avion meanwhile was sold to British Airways.
