Martina Navratilova made her point clear that it is still hard to tell if Roger Federer has already clinched the title as the greatest tennis player of all time.

Navratilova, who racked up 18 Grand Slams in her career and is considered among the greatest in tennis, said in interview via Tennis World USA that she has no idea how well Federer would compete against other greats from different eras such as Rod Laver or Bjorn Borg. Still, the Czech-American believed Federer has proven through his career his all-around brilliance, whether that be on hard-court, grass or clay.

When it comes to clay-court greatness, however, the tennis legend is very much certain that the Swiss Maestro has a valid claim as the best to ever play on the red-dirt just behind the widely-recognized King of Clay --- Rafael Nadal.

While Federer only boast just one title at Rolland Garros, Navratilova has no doubt Federer is one of the best on the red dirt, insisting he could have captured more French Open title, had not Nadal emerged as the most dominant clay-court player the sport has ever seen.

Federer, whose only French Open title came in 2009 when Nadal was stunned in the preliminary rounds by Robin Soderling, skipped the Miami Masters to give more preparation time for what will likely be a very intense clay-court season.

On the other hand, Nadal is out to prove that he is still one and only King of Clay, as he looks for another record-setting run in the clay-court season. The Spaniard has been dealing with what he called "nerve issues," but his coaching staff is nevertheless confident he can overcome this woe just in time for the French Open, where he'll be gunning for his 10th French Open crown.
