Acer has launched the Liquid X2, the first smartphone it will launch internationally.
Acer has launched a new smartphone as it prepares for an international launch of a phone named Liquid X2. It's the company's top of the line smartphone featuring an enormous 4000mAh battery.
Following a large number of computer and tablet announcements, including a new 15.6-inch Chromebook and Predator gaming tablet, the Liquid X2 comes as a final kicker in Acer's 2015 ambitions.

Not all the information on the Acer Liquid X2 was revealed, but we do know it will sport a 5.5-inch display -- most likely full HD although Acer might go all-in with a UHD display.
As for the internals, the only spec we could get out of Acer was a 64-bit processor although the make, clock-speed and cores are still a mystery. To hazard a guess, the Snapdragon 810 would be the most obvious option although MediaTek's new octa-core CPU is also an option Eastern markets seem to like.
On the back of the device is a 13 MP camera capable of shooting full HD video. Acer has doubled up with a 13 MP on the front, as well, making it one of the highest resolution selfie takers in the world.
The main talking point for the Liquid X2 is the 4000mAh battery -- this is huge. Not only does this mean over a day-long battery life, it also means phablets are starting to become the real solution to the battery life problem that has plagued the industry since the start of LCD panels.
Acer has also added room for three SIMs, allowing users to add one SIM for personal life, one SIM for work, and one for ... whatever else needs a SIM card. Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11ac will also be available on the smartphone.
The Liquid X2 will be available in four different colors: white, red, blue and brown. All have a plastic glossy finish to them -- which may excite or upset customers depending on their preference.
An impressive smartphone to look at but Acer is still withholding specifications, price and availability, making it hard to say if it's a good deal or not. Come next month, we should know more about the Liquid X2.
