Troubled Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan is rumored to be converting to Islam as she was snapped on Wednesday holding a copy of the Quran after her first day of court-ordered community service in Brooklyn, New York.

The 28-year old actress, who was raised Catholic, arrived two hours late to the children's center and was seen later on carrying the Muslim holy book in her left hand as she left. This parked speculations that she might be converting to Islam.

With her recently announced plan to go on an "emotional detox," giving up dating and alcohol, rumors about her conversion to Islam went into overdrive especially since the Quran suggests a lifestyle free of alcohol.

This is not the first time that Lindsay Lohan has shown interest in other religions aside from Islam. As a teen star, she consistently wore the red Kabbalah string bracelet, believed to ward off misfortune caused by the "evil eye."

Back in 2012, Courtney Love told Access Hollywood Live that the Mean Girls actress is a member of her Buddhist chanting group, who often came around her house to chant. Then last year, Lohan, herself revealed in her docu-series "Lindsay" with Oprah Winfrey that she is a "very spiritual person," adding that she is extremely in touch with "greater powers" and blessed that she has been given a gift she can share with others.

Lindsay Lohan, who is rumored to be converting to Islam soon, was in Brooklyn for her first day of community service at the Duffield Children's Center, the same center where she worked last year, while filming her reality series.

The actress avoided the horde of reporters and fans by sneaking in the back door of the center. A little later, the center's education director, Ivonne Lopez, went out to confirm that Lindsay Lohan was already inside the building and shared that she is currently engaged in office work.

Lindsay Lohan was recently granted permission to transfer back to the children's center in Brooklyn from London to complete the remainder of her required community service hours. Despite having three years to fulfill her 125 hours of community service, she only managed to complete nine hours and 45 minutes, which means she has to work for eight hours every day to meet the May 28 deadline.

Meanwhile, Lindsay Lohan was again right in the middle of a controversy when she was photographed arriving in New York on Tuesday, even though she claimed in a recent Instagram snap that she was already in the city on Monday.

Linsay Lohan has yet to address the speculations regarding her reported plan to convert to Islam.
