BitTorrent finally released its own chat app, Bleep, on iOS. The app, first released in Android, is also available in the OS X and Windows platform.
The app, known initially as BitTorrent Chat, is claim by its creators as the most secure chat platform in the current market. In order to achieve top-notch security and privacy, BitTorrent programmed its app to use direct peer-to-peer communication as well and end-to-end encryption technique, according 9 to 5 Mac.

For users concerned about their privacy, BitTorrent assures them that hackers will have no way of intercepting their information since Bleep is using a decentralized system which means that user information are not stored in servers. Instead, BitTorrent programmed Bleep to store encryption keys into the user's local drive and not into the company's server which is the usual trend, according to PC Mag.
The recent release of Bleep also ushered a new feature called Whisper. This feature allows users to send ephemeral messages which will be automatically deleted 25 seconds after the receiving user has read or opened it. This prevents users from archiving the message. BitTorrent also took a big leap towards user privacy by not allowing smartphones to take screenshots while the app is in Whisper mode.
According to TNW News, once in Whisper mode external cameras cannot take photo of the users screen.
Once the Whisper Mode is activated, user's profile photo are automatically hidden. If users forgot who they are chatting with, they can simply tap the eye symbol in order to display the nickname of who they are chatting with, once this option is used their messages will be temporarily blurred.
A free voice call service was also added on the newest version of Bleep. The voice call feature uses cloud connection and end-to-end encryption to make sure that no third-party will be able to snoop or tap in while the users are calling. BitTorrent is still considering if they will add a video calling feature to its chat service.
