Microsoft Reveals Windows 10 Editions To Come In Home, Business, Education

(Photo : Reuters) Microsoft reveals Windows 10 editions to come in home, business and education.

The software giant is now revealing to the public the Microsoft's list of planned editions, which will be available for the Windows 10 PC, smartphones, tablets and devices.

According to the May 13 official blog post of Terry Myerson, who leads the Windows Operating System Group, Microsoft will have six Windows 10 editions which include Home, Mobile, Pro, enterprise, Education and Mobile Enterprise, Yahoo News reported.

While the Microsoft has not yet disclosed the pricing as well as the complete feature set and the specs of Microsoft's Windows 10 editions, the world's leading producer of computer software said months ago that they plan Windows 10 to be available as a free upgrade for consumers who are running Windows 7, Windows 8.x and Windows Phone 8.1. The free upgrade is for the first year, following Windows 10 operating system's availability.

Microsoft also said that some business users, who want the Windows 10 Pro, will be entitled to a free deal for the first year; however, Microsoft executives said that it is with the exemption of the enterprise customers, the report added.

Windows marketing leader Tony Prophet said that they were making strong progress with the Windows 10. He also said that they were on their way to make it available this summer, according to The Verge. "And because we have built Windows 10 to be delivered as a service, this milestone is just the beginning of the new generation of Windows. Starting this fall, customers can expect ongoing innovation and security updates for their Windows 10 devices, including more advanced security and management capabilities for businesses."

The lineup of Windows 10 includes Windows 10 Home, the consumer-focused desktop edition; Windows 10 Mobile, the version for the Windows 10 Phone and small Intel-and ARM-based tablets; Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise, the version of Windows 10 Mobile only for volume licensing customers; Windows 10 Pro, a desktop version of Windows 10 for mobile workers technology fans including power users; Windows 10 Enterprise, the enterprise version of Windows 10 hat is available to volume-licensing customers; and Windows 10 Education, the version for staff, administrators, students and educators available through academic Volume Licensing.
