Starbucks Manager Fired: After Shouting At A Customer, Uploaded Videos Went Viral; Angered Internet Users

(Photo : Reuters) A New York City Starbucks employee has been fired after cellphone video showing her ranting at customers in a Queens store went viral shortly after being posted online.
A Starbucks customer, Ruby Chen, came into Starbucks Elmhurst in Queens. New York and ordered a cookie straw and frapuccino. Things began to get out of hand after she placed her order.
Based on the video circulating online, she was browsing her Starbucks app on her smarphone to pay for her order when she was not able to hear the staff ask for her name to write on the cup; however, the information are unclear yet Chen thinks not hearing the baristas may have been wrong that set the branch manager off.

NBC reported that as Chen tries to open her Starbucks app, the branch manager, Melissa, started yelling at her. When Chen posted the video on YouTube, she wrote, "The only thing I said to her is '[sorry] I don't hear you but you don't have to yell.' And till now, I haven't figured out which word aggravated her. "
In the first video, other customers and staff tells Melissa that she should be fired, which anger and frustrate her more and she shouts at Chen refuses her pay and told her to get out. She also accused Chen trying to rob the cookie straw.
Chen posted in her Facebook account that she reported the unfortunate incident to Starbucks' corporate office and they have resolved the issue with Melissa privately. It is said that Starbucks then decided to just fire the staff due to its bad behavior.
Business Insider said that a representative from Starbucks quickly responded via Facebook and said that the incident does not reflect on how their staff serve their customers. They also cleared that they fired Melissa for her said behavior. The company took this problem seriously and this experience does not reflect the high service criteria they set for themselves. He repeated that Melissa can no longer work for Starbucks.
Chen said that she had been given $100 Starbucks gift card as a form of apology.
