Dr. Mark Pimentel of Los Angeles based Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, has come up with two new blood tests to help diagnose IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). This is definitely a huge relief because more than approximately 45 million Americans normally suffer from this gastrointestinal conditions that lead to severe symptoms.

The worst attribute about the disorder is that no single test is available to diagnose exactly what is wrong with patients. According to the doctor, now that the test is available, patients do not have to suffer for long. The suffering time will be reduced drastically. Automatically, the time needed for other things will get reduced just like the examination time, according to ESBTrib.

In order to come up with the impressive tests, researchers had to carry out extensive research that suggested IBS might develop after infections from bacteria toxins present in food poisoning, as per reports by NY City. Scientists also predict that IBS may be soon a thing of the past, with the new diagnostic tests.

According to the researchers, the toxins usually attack a person's intestinal track. Some of the common symptoms of this syndrome include diarrhea, constipation, bloating, gas, cramping and abdominal pain. Irina Benauer is one perfect example of a patient suffering from this condition.

According to Irina, it took doctors plenty of time to diagnose the disorder. This is after she started experiencing symptoms such as diarrhea and bloating. To identify the disease, Irina had to go through many tests.

After the tests, doctors were able to come very close to the right diagnosis. Later on, she underwent completely new developed tests. The tests revealed her greatest fears - that she was suffering from IBS. She was much relieved after the correct diagnosis. After all, the disease was not psychological. Doctors were able to give her the right treatment.
