NFL News 2015: League Announces Official Super Bowl LI Date

The National Football League had just announced that February 5, 2017 is the date of its Super Bowl LI to be held at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
In an article from My Fox Houston, Host Committee Chairman Ric Campo said that they are "excited to now know the date, and the Houston Super Bowl LI Host Committee is proud and eager to lock in the countdown to kick-off." He added that it is a "tremendous opportunity to showcase Houston as the forward-looking, global city that it is," and that they are looking forward to host NFL fans and the whole sporting community.

Super Bowl LI includes a whole week of public events and other goings-on that will showcase the NFL before the actual game.
The game will be aired live by Fox Broadcasting Company and is again expected to draw in millions of viewers worldwide. In the United States, Super Bowl games are the most-watched television programs with an average of 114.4 million viewers annually. It comes in second to the UEFA Champions League Finals in terms of the global audience.
Super Bowl is the yearly championship game of the NFL that pits the best teams from the National Football Conference and the American Football Conference. It is usually designated with a Roman numeral to distinguish each game (Super Bowl I, Super Bowl X, etc.), except for the coming Super Bowl 50 in 2016.
Super Bowl LI is the 51st edition of this epic sporting event. So far, in 49 occasions, the National Football Conference is ahead in the series over the American Football Conference, 26-23.
