The return of the National Football League to the city of Los Angeles in 2016 is highly imminent.
As reported by Albert Breer in the league's official website, the NFL's future in going back to the City of Angels after 21 years of being absent is gaining momentum.

The report mentioned that a league source said that there will be multiple options "to make that a reality by end of the calendar year" as NFL team owners assemble for the annual spring meeting. It means that by the first quarter of next year, L.A. football fans would have their own NFL team to cheer on.
Three NFL franchises are said to be in the mix to return to Los Angeles, and they are the St. Louis Rams, the San Diego Chargers, and the Oakland Raiders, according to International Business Times' Justin Gloria. These three franchises have all formerly represented L.A. in the NFL.
The Rams reportedly have the slight edge mainly because of the economic resources of billionaire owner Stan Kroenke, who also owns several other sports franchises namely the Denver Nuggets in the NBA, Colorado Avalanche in the NHL, Colorado Rapids in the Major League Soccer, and Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League. Kroenke is also the largest shareholder of the Arsenal Football Club in the British Premier League.
Meanwhile, according to Mike Florio of NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk, the Chargers and Raiders have employed the services of former San Franciso 49ers executive Carmen Policy to help them move back to Los Angeles. Both teams will be sharing a stadium that is proposed to be built in Carson, California.
