PC hardware manufacturer Nvidia recently unveiled its latest player in the game of super-enhanced video game graphics: the GeForce GTX 980 Ti. After the GeForce GTX Titan X sold last March at a hefty price of $1,000, hardcore gamers have been waiting for a more affordable graphics card that can easily take on the hardware requirements of the next-gen game releases. At only $650, the 980 Ti promises just that.

The launch of GTX Titan X marked a huge leap from its predecessor, the GTX 980. Unfortunately, it was such a huge improvement in graphics card technology that the price rose just as high. This posed a couple of dilemmas for gamers. On the one hand, players using only one monitor display felt overwhelmed with the new video card's capabilities, most of which won't be utilized to its fullest anyway. In contrast, many gamers who do make use of up to three QHD displays feel that, while the 12GB VRAM system is a necessity, they would have to stretch out their funds to get their hands on the Titan.

Now, the GeForce GTX 980 Ti promises to have a better value-to-quality ratio than the Titan. While certainly slower than the latter, the GTX 980 breaks the price problem by being priced at one-third of the Titan's original cost.

Nvidia's latest next-gen-friendly gaming video card runs with second-generation chips powered by Maxwell microarchitecture. These chips comes with a whole lot of video RAM, as well as the latest DirectX 12 effects. Not only are the GeForce GTX 980 Ti's Maxwell chips are capable of facilitating high-res performance at incredible frame rate and speeds, they are also extremely power-efficient. Cnet claims that the new video card cuts the power consumption of the GTX 750 by half.

The GTX 980 Ti also makes up for its slower speed and lesser memory (only 6GB compared to the Titan X, which comes at 12GB) by offering better pixel and texture fill rates. It also comes with a lot more transistors - a whopping 8,000.

With this new release, there's no better time for hardcore PC players to start gearing up for the latest game releases, which comes with graphics requirements that could practically cripple any card with lesser power than the GTX 980 Ti . PC gamers can now enjoy "Grand Theft Auto V," "Assassin's Creed: Unity" and a whole lot more. Nvidia builds on this fact by offering a copy of "Batman: Arkham Knight" along with each  GTX 980 Ti sold.
