As of this writing, Manny Pacquiao continues to recuperate from his recent surgery to repair his old right rotator cuff injury that was aggravated during "The Fight of the Century" with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

If all treatments and therapies go well, then he may be ready to step into the ring again as early as May of next year. And who do you think the PacMan wants to be his opponent that time?

Floyd Mayweather Jr. only.

Boxing News 24's Chris Williams reported that Pacquiao is "only interested in coming back" for a rematch against the pay-per-view king, and nothing and no one else. Williams intimated that an insider from Philstar had revealed that if it is not Mayweather, then he might not fight at all.

The source of this rumor is no other than Philstar's Joaquin Henson, who was Pacquiao's fellow countryman. In his column, Henson wrote that "if and when" the PacMan chooses to come back to boxing, there would be only one name and one fight in his radar, and that is Money.

This speculation truly makes sense as there are really no other big names left for Pacquiao in order for him to continue to earn the kind of money that he is currently getting. And it seems like Manny is only motivated by "Money" right now, which is why he considers no one else.

While the same is true for the unbeaten champion, there is more pressure on Pacquiao to make the rematch happen because of the subpar performance he showed in their bout. Williams suggested that Pacquiao has to yield more of the pie to make Mayweather agree to a potential second fight, saying that the purse split should be in the "65-35 or maybe even 70-30" in favor of the latter.

Also, by that time, the number one pound-for-pound fighter may already have hung up his gloves for good. Reports are clear that Mayweather plans to have his last fight this September, and Pacquiao will still not be ready by then.

But there were also reports saying that if the price is right, then Mayweather might welcome the Pacquiao fight once more.

Meanwhile, Fight Saga's Lee Cleveland wrote that the PacMan should continue to fight even if it would not be against Mayweather. Cleveland said that Pacquiao should savor the opportunity of becoming the top pound-for-pound pugilist once again. With Mayweather off the table, he will now be the main crowd drawer of the sport, which means more money for him as well.

So is money really the only motivation of Manny right now? The fans will find out in 11 months.
