Two phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have come and gone, and the world is yet to hear an announcement for a Hulk flick. However, rumors have been circulating that the Hulk will appear in the upcoming "Captain America: Civil War" movie, but not the Hulk that people expect.

Willam Hurt will reprise his role as General Thunderbolt Ross, and if the movies follow the patterns of the comics, Geek Tyrant said it is safe to assume that fans will get to see the general transform into the Red Hulk on the upcoming Marvel flick. This appearance of the Red Hulk might be enough to fish out Bruce Banner out of hiding, based on the ending storyline of "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

However, it is virtually impossible to put in more characters into the "Civil War" movie, given that so many big names are already attached to it. Aside from Captain America and Tony Stark, Movie Pilot listed Black Panther and Spider-Man as characters that might possibly be introduced into the Marvel Universe using the movie. Though it might be a long shot, it is never impossible for Kevin Feige to add in a few big major cameos in an already character-heavy movie.

Marvel fans have always been excited to see Hulk in his own movie, given that the first one was a flop and the second, though it did good, could have done better. The comic version of the Hulk seems more diverse and interesting compared to what has been shown on the big screen, which just means that there is still so much potential for Bruce Banner to grow.

In fact, given the direction that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going now, there are a lot of ways for the Hulk to appear in a different Marvel movie. Even though Marvel helmer Kevin Feige disproved it, Cinema Blend mentioned the sequel "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" as a possibility. Appearing in the Marvel series "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." is another possibility, since none of the major characters in the movies have appeared in the series, and he can be the first one to do so. The most plausible is the Hulk appearing in either the first or second part of "Avengers: Infinity War," even though it is still not clear on how Marvel will connect the entire cinematic universe for that finale.
