Technology giant Microsoft revealed its new Wi-Fi app, though accidently and only for a brief period of time on Tuesday, this week. The new app is called Microsoft Wi-Fi and is expected to give users hassle free internet access.
In an unplanned leak, Microsoft accidently revealed its all new Wi-Fi app that is expected to give the users access to internet without interruption when the service's website went live ahead of the scheduled time on Tuesday. A domain search indicates that the new website is owned by MarkMonitor - the same agency that owns the domain for Microsoft.com. The reports are calling it an updated version of the Skype Wi-Fi service, and it is expected that with this new facility, users will be able to connect to various Wi-Fi hotspots from anywhere in the world.
The leak hit limelight when an alert twitter user stumbled upon the website, and was quick to update the online community. Previously, Microsoft owned Skype and so it is quite likely that the new app could be a rebranded version of the original Skype Wi-Fi service.
Shortly after the leak, Microsoft was quick to take down the service; however, the technology giant issued an official statement, wchich states that the team at Microsoft confirmed that they were working on a new internet app. The official release also said that the new app was meant to facilitate free internet access for users across the globe.
As for the other features, gadget freaks have no choice but to wait for the official launch of the service, which is expected in the near future. Meanwhile, the leaked information indicates that the new app will be compatible with all the major platforms. In fact, the app will also offer links to various Microsoft enterprise customers like office 365, simplifying the operations for the users.
