Legendary Puerto Rican fighter Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32 KOs) last fought in June 2014, beating pound-for-pound elite Sergio Martinez of Argentina via referee technical decision to capture the WBC and The Ring Middleweight titles in Madison Square Garden in New York.

On Saturday, after a year of rest, Cotto will be back in New York, this time at the Barclays Center, to face former IBF, WBA, and IBO middleweight champion Danny Geale (31-3, 16 KOs) of Australia. Currently, the Australian is ranked no. 4 by The Ring Magazine in the middleweight division.

On paper, Cotto is obviously the more illustrious fighter, having fought and beaten a lot of legends like himself such as Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao, Shane Mosley, and Antonio Margarito among others. Boxing News 24's Dan Ambrose wrote that although Geale is considered a world-class and experienced boxer as well, he is not a big puncher and is clearly not at par to Cotto when it comes to both skills and experience. He is certainly not as popular as well. Geale's most notable match was a third-round knockout loss to fast-rising boxing superstar Gennady Golovkin of Kazakhstan in July 2014.

Even though Geale is a naturally bigger fighter than Cotto, Analyzed Sports' Andy Chapman said that he is still at a disadvantage if he decides to fight toe-to-toe with the four-division champion. Cotto's punching power is tried and tested all throughout his 14-year professional career with an 82 percent knockout rate. Meanwhile, Geale is known to be a soft puncher, with a career knockout rate of a little less than 52 percent.

When it comes to the Tale of the Tape, both men are aged 34, but Cotto gives up three inches in height and four inches in reach to Geale. Sports Box writers think that these advantages are not significant to the fight, though. The Puerto Rican's superior strength and skill, and experience in fighting larger and longer-reached opponents like Mayweather and Margarito, will still topple what the natural middleweight from Australia would be able to give.

The verdict: A 9th round TKO victory for Miguel Cotto. Daniele Geale will be able to prolong the fight with his jabs, but the pressure from Cotto will be too much for him to handle in the late rounds.
