Warner Bros reportedly sprang into action suddenly and doubled the winning money of the contestants, who will be taking part in the finale on July 11, 2015, according to detailed news reports and analysis by The Hard Core Gamer.

This overwhelming increase in the prize money was done all thanks to the Blue Steel Sub Zero skin competition's success. The prize pool from Blue Steel will be used for many more initiatives, according to The Gaming Trend.

It will be used to establish the "Mortal Kombat X" prize of $50,000 at the EVO to be held between July 17- July 19, 2015. It will also contribute in a significant way to the ESL Mortal Kombat X Pro League finals, whose deadline is June 29, 2015.

This will also be used to fund the series of Mortal Kombat X tournament which will include CEO from June 26-28, Combo Breaker from May 22-24, and MCM Comic Com in the U.K. Invitation Tournament on May 23. Other unannounced tournaments will also benefit from it, said reports.

The EVO event is scheduled to be held on July 17 till July 19. It will also feature games other than the "Mortal Kombat X," such "Ultra Street Fighter IV" and "Persona 4 Arena Ultimax."

"Mortal Kombat X" is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but the game is facing delay in its release on smartphone consoles. "Mortal Kombat X" recently released a new patch to the game, which fixed a lot of issues that the gamers were facing.
