The royals have released the first official photos of Princess Charlotte, and in keeping up with the informal tradition started by Kate Middleton and Prince William, the photographs were taken by none other than the Duchess of Cambridge.
In the four photos Kensington Palace issued Sunday morning, Princess Charlotte is being held by big brother Prince George, according to the Associated Press.

The Duchess reportedly took the relaxed photos of her baby girl at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, the royal couple's country home in eastern England mid-May.
The royals of Britain were usually photographed by the world's best photographers, but Prince William and Kate began the informal tradition two years ago with grandfather Michael Middleton taking Prince George's first official portrait.
The new photos of Princess Charlotte shows the 2-month-old baby being held by big brother Goeorge, who in July turns 2. Princess Charlotte is seen donning a white sweater, while the prince wears a white top.
Apparently, the Duchess is no stranger to the arts after completing her masters in History of Art in 2005 at St. Andrews, reported The Sydney Morning Herald. While on break in 2000, she also went on to study at the British Institute in Florence.
Born on May 2 at London's St Mary's Hospital, Princess Charlotte is fourth in line to the British throne. When crowned, she would be named head of the Church of England.
Her christening will be held at St Mary Magdalene Church at the Queen's Sandringham estate in Norfolk on July 5. The countryside church is reportedly the same one where her late grandmother, Princess Diana, had been baptized.
News of Princess Charlotte's christening was announced by Kensington Palace Friday on behalf of her parents, according to The Los Angeles Times.
Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, will be holding the ceremony, according to the palace.
Upon Charlotte's christening, she will be two months old. Meanwhile, elder brother Prince George's christening was also held by Welby. His baptism took place in October 2013 when he was 3 months old. He will reportedly be just shy of 2 years old when Charlotte is christened.
