Jumia, a tech blogger and also Africa's leading e-commerce merchant, recently revealed the importance of battery in a smartphone in today's time. Seems like Gionee took this advice very seriously and is soon launching a smartphone which will be sporting a gigantic 5,000 mAh battery capacity.

The phones in this series are already known to pack in a greater battery backup but 5,000 mAh is too much even for their standards. Gionee Marathon M4 is the successor of the Gionee Marathon M3, which featured a 4,200mAh battery capacity.

The Gionee Marathon will also be featuring 4G LTE data option and a 5-inch IPS capacitive touch screen, along with a pixel density of 720, according to The Techrez.

The phone will be encased in a metal shell and will also be equipped with 1.5 MB RAM along with an 8 mega pixel back camera plus a 5 mega pixel front snapper. The phone is well-designed to capture some high quality image and high definition videos. It is the perfect companion for the selfie enthusiasts and the wildlife photographers alike. The phone will offer stiff competition to the upcoming iPhone 6S, which is rumored to pack a double lens camera system for its primary camera. The new iPhone 6S is said to shoot photographs similar to the quality of a DLSR.

With its 5,000 mAh battery capacity, Gionee Marathon M4 will be designed to work for up to 65 hours without the need of charging and has an unbelievale standby time of 463 hours. The front panel of the phone will also consist of capacitive menu keys, which are placed around a mono block design with rectangular rounded edges, according to  GSM Arena. The specatular design and the latest specs of the smart phone are sure to appeal to the techie crowd.

The next successor - Gionee M5 - is expected to be launched with an even bigger 6,000mAh battery capacity while the present one - Gionee M4 - could see a launch date by end of June. Many teaser images of the smartphone can be seen on the Chinese company's official Facebook page. The official price of the phone is yet to be announced.
